The RFRL Pro Truck Series opened its season at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday night, and it was #29 Judson Curtis who emerged from a 22-truck field to take the win in dramatic fashion. Curtis started deep in the pack from 16th position and charged his way to the front over the course of 85 laps, leading 35 of them en route to his first victory in the series. The race saw 16 lead changes across the field, with three cautions bunching the field and reshuffling the order on nine caution laps. Pole sitter #73 John Crosby led 13 laps early but ultimately fell off the pace to finish 20th, while fellow front-row starter #66 Brandon Yates had an even worse afternoon, ending up 22nd despite starting from second.

Curtis's performance doubled as the race's Hard Charger award, as his 15-position gain from 16th to the front was unmatched by anyone in the field. The only driver to tie that gain was #60 Brian Sousa, who also advanced 15 spots from 19th to 4th, though Sousa's run came with a race-high 9 incidents. Curtis crossed the line ahead of #77 Anthony Hardin, who ran a clean race with zero incidents from his 6th-place starting spot and led 9 laps himself. #3 Shaun Dionne rounded out the podium in third after starting 10th, also completing the race without a single incident.

The battle for the lead was genuinely contested throughout, with #56 Marc Holloway leading 9 laps from his 3rd-place starting position before settling for 5th at the finish. #48 Chuck Burley and #11 Jonathan Burt each led 6 laps from their respective mid-pack starting spots, finishing 10th and 11th respectively. #9 Tiyler Walts led one lap but struggled to a 12th-place finish with 12 incidents — the most of any driver in the field — while #68 Tom Ringer led 4 laps before dropping to 19th.

With 19 races still remaining on the schedule, Curtis's opening-round win places him atop the standings with 41 points, four clear of Hardin's 37. The gap is tight throughout the top five, with Dionne sitting third at 36 points, Sousa fourth at 34, and Holloway fifth at 33. The entire top five is separated by just 8 points after Round 1, setting up what promises to be a fiercely contested season across the Pro Truck Series.
