Jordan Traas delivered the strongest run of Wednesday night's 135-lap affair at Charlotte Motor Speedway, steering the #79 machine from a fifth-place starting spot to the front and ultimately leading 71 of 135 laps en route to his second win of the season in the Elite O'Reilly Series. With eight lead changes across the field, the race was anything but a straightforward affair, and the lone caution — which consumed three laps — added a layer of strategy that shuffled the order and set up the decisive late-race battles. Traas converted all of it into a result, claiming his eighth all-time series win.

Pole sitter Judson Curtis in the #29 kept the fight honest throughout, leading 46 laps of his own and crossing the line in second. It was a strong showing for Curtis, who brought home his third consecutive top-two finish of the evening at minimum — though ultimately the win eluded him despite holding the best starting spot on the grid. Jonathan Burt rounded out the podium in the #11, finishing third from a second-place starting position despite accumulating four incidents across the 135 laps. Christopher Cox in the #38 was the other notable mover up front, gaining two spots from sixth to fourth while leading 10 laps along the way.

The hard charger distinction also belongs to Traas, whose gain of four positions from fifth to first stood as the best improvement in the field. Brian Sousa in the #60 quietly advanced three spots from eighth to fifth, while Cameron Gulley in the #76 gained two positions to finish seventh. On the other end of the ledger, Tom Ringer had the toughest night, dropping six spots from third to ninth while accumulating four incidents — a damaging result given where the standings currently sit.

With 10 rounds remaining, the points picture is coming into focus. Zachary Lovelace leads the standings at 471 points but did not appear in the finishing order, putting pressure on that gap as Curtis and Burt continue to rack up points finishes. Curtis sits second at 432 points — just 39 behind Lovelace — and Burt trails Curtis by nine at 423, making those two a tightly-grouped threat to the leader. Tommy Wynne holds fourth at 385, while Ringer's rough night in Charlotte leaves him fifth at 356, now in danger of being squeezed further as the field approaches the back half of the schedule.
