P1 Finish
Dustin Kleba brought the #1 truck home first at Rockingham Speedway on Tuesday night, earning his second win of the season in Round 18 of the RFRL Truck Series. Starting from fifth, Kleba led 52 of 140 laps in a race that saw six lead changes and zero cautions across the full distance — a clean, green-flag affair that kept the entire field on edge. Jesse Gordon in the #10 truck actually paced the field for 54 laps, the most of any driver, but it was Kleba who had the truck where it mattered most when the checkered flag flew. With 18 of 23 starters finishing without a single incident, Rockingham delivered a disciplined, hard-fought race from start to finish.
The performance of the night outside the winner's circle belonged to #20 Nate Lesko, who turned a 16th-place starting spot into a second-place finish — a gain of 14 positions that earned him Hard Charger honors. Lesko also led 9 laps during his charge through the field, making his run to the runner-up spot one of the most aggressive and complete drives of the evening. Paul White in the #25 truck matched the theme, advancing 10 spots from 14th to fourth, while Brandon Hinton's #5 gained 11 positions from 21st to tenth. On the other end of the ledger, #85 Dakota Reeder — who started second — fell 15 spots to finish 17th, one of only a handful of drivers to record incidents all night.
Pole-sitter Jordan Traas in the #79 truck led 25 laps and crossed the line third, which was enough to keep him firmly at the top of the playoff standings with 164 points heading into the final two rounds. Jesse Gordon's fifth-place finish left him second in the standings at 155 points, putting 9 points between Traas and Gordon with two races remaining. Paul White's fourth-place run moved him to third in the standings at 135 points, while Dakota Reeder's difficult night leaves him fourth at 134 — just one point behind White and very much alive in the hunt. Anthony Hardin rounds out the top five at 116 points, still mathematically in contention but facing a steeper climb over the final two events.
With no cautions to bunch the field and every position hard-earned over 140 green-flag laps, Rockingham produced a clear separation between the contenders and the rest. Traas leads but cannot afford complacency, Gordon needs a strong result to close the gap, and White and Reeder are essentially tied heading into what shapes up as a critical penultimate round. Kleba, meanwhile, walks away with 40 points and his second victory of the season — a result that announces he's more than capable of playing spoiler as the top contenders fight for position over the final two races.
