At Darlington Raceway on Wednesday night, #29 Judson Curtis turned his pole position start into a dominant victory in Round 12 of the RFRL Elite O'Reilly Series, leading 93 of 115 laps to claim his second win of the season. With nine lead changes across the field and just one caution for three laps, the race offered enough movement to make things interesting, but Curtis ultimately proved the class of the 10-car field. Six drivers completed the race without a single incident, underscoring the clean, disciplined racing that defined much of the evening at the historic South Carolina track.
The story of the night beyond Curtis belonged to #11 Jonathan Burt, who earned Hard Charger honors after charging from sixth on the grid all the way to second at the checkered flag — a net gain of four positions. Burt also contributed four laps of his own at the front, adding substance to what was an aggressive and effective run through the field. Two incidents on his scorecard did not slow his momentum enough to matter, as he crossed the line to secure 35 points and his second podium result of the season.
#00 Zachary Lovelace completed the podium in third after starting second, giving back one position over the course of the race despite leading eight laps. Lovelace accumulated 34 points on the night, which, combined with Curtis's win, means the standings picture heading into the back half of the season is sharpening considerably. Behind the top three, #81 Daniel Mcconnell posted the joint-best positional gain of the night alongside Burt, climbing four spots from eighth on the grid to fourth at the line, while #60 Brian Sousa was the biggest mover in the wrong direction, falling six positions from fourth to tenth.
In the standings, Lovelace holds a 36-point advantage over Curtis at 404 to 368, with Burt now 57 back in third at 347. With 12 rounds remaining in the Elite O'Reilly Series, Curtis's win has tightened his grip on second place and kept him well within striking range of the points leader, while Burt's runner-up run ensures that three drivers remain firmly in the conversation at the top. Tommy Wynne holds fourth at 318 points but took four incidents on his way to an eighth-place result, a rough evening that could prove costly as the series heads deeper into the schedule.
