Jason Phillips delivered a commanding performance at Watkins Glen International on Saturday, steering the #08 truck to victory in Round 7 of the RFRL Pro Truck Season. Starting from the outside of the front row, Phillips wasted no time at the drop of the green flag, leading 39 of the race's 40 laps across a clean afternoon that saw zero cautions interruptions. With two lead changes recorded over the course of the race, it was #80 Dylan Gruetzmacher who briefly held the point for one lap before Phillips reclaimed the front and held it to the checkered flag. Gruetzmacher brought his truck home in second place after starting fourth, while #77 Anthony Hardin, who held position from his third-place starting spot, completed the podium.

Behind the top three, the story of the race belonged to #69 Todd Parent, who charges from ninth on the grid to fifth at the flag — the best positional gain of any finisher and enough to earn Hard Charger honors on the day. Parent's run past competitors including the pole-sitter and several mid-pack trucks gave the #69 team one of their stronger results of the season. Marc Holloway in the #56 rounded out a strong afternoon in fourth, gaining three positions from his seventh-place starting spot in a clean run that drew zero incidents. It was one of five drivers on the grid who completed the race without a single incident, alongside Gruetzmacher, Dylan Hinton, Brian Sousa, and Robert Walton.

The afternoon was a difficult one for polesitter John Crosby, whose #73 truck fell from first on the grid all the way to ninth at the finish — a swing of eight positions. Despite the setback, Crosby remains the points leader heading out of Watkins Glen with 255 points, holding a 35-point cushion over second-place Brian Sousa, who also had a rough afternoon, slipping six spots from his starting position to finish twelfth. Brandon Hinton sits third in the standings at 212 points, with Marc Holloway and Tom Ringer separated by just a single point at 201 and 200 respectively to round out the top five.

With 13 races still remaining on the RFRL Pro Truck Season calendar, the points table is far from settled. Crosby's lead is meaningful but not insurmountable, and the tight clustering of Holloway and Ringer just behind the top three suggests the battle for position in the standings will be intense throughout the second half of the season. Phillips, meanwhile, opens his win column in the series with his first victory, and while he sits outside the top five in points, a result like Saturday's performance at Watkins Glen will only add fuel to his push for relevance in the standings battles ahead.
